PPI Hiroshima Showcases Indonesia’s Cultural Diversity at the Higashihiroshima International Festa 2025

Celebrating Unity in Diversity Through Cultural Exchange

Higashihiroshima, October 26th, 2025 — The Indonesian Student Association of Japan in Hiroshima (PPI Hiroshima) proudly participated in the Higashihiroshima International Festa 2025, presenting the “Indonesia Exhibition Booth” at Saijo Central Park (Higashihiroshima City Hall North Ground) which supported from the International Exchange Division of the Saijo Residents' Council/西条住民自治協議会国際交流部会のサポート. 

The Indonesia Booth highlighted the beauty and richness of Indonesian culture through various displays featuring traditional clothing, authentic snacks and cuisine, popular tourism destinations, and a hands-on angklung music activity where visitors could experience playing Indonesia’s traditional bamboo instrument. Visitors also enjoyed a captivating performance of the Cendrawasih Dance from Bali, symbolizing the grace and elegance of the bird from Indonesia.

As a gesture of appreciation for visitors’ enthusiasm, PPI Hiroshima distributed 70 free keychains, each representing different ethnic groups across Indonesia — including Javanese, Sundanese, Minangkabau, Bugis, etc. These keychains symbolize Indonesia’s unity amid its vast cultural diversity.

“We want to show that Indonesia is not only beautiful for its landscapes but also for its rich and diverse cultures. Through this event, we hope to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Indonesia among the Japanese and international communities,” said a representative from PPI Hiroshima.

This event reflects PPI Hiroshima’s ongoing mission to promote cultural diplomacy and strengthen cross-cultural connections through interactive and educational activities. The organization continues to embody its vision, “PPI Hiroshima – The Next Level,” by showcasing the positive image and spirit of Indonesia on the global stage.
